Ancelotti Assigns Carvajal a New Role at Real Madrid

Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti has assigned Real Madrid’s player, Dani Carvajal, a new role after a long period of absence due to injury.

Carvajal underwent successful surgery following a tear in two ligaments and a tendon in his right leg, which occurred during a match against Villarreal in La Liga. The injury resulted from a collision with Villarreal’s midfielder Yeremi Pino during stoppage time, causing Carvajal to twist his right knee. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation sessions to prepare for his return to competitive action. Meanwhile, Ancelotti has entrusted him with a new responsibility.

According to the Spanish newspaper MARCA, Ancelotti aims to leverage Carvajal’s strong personality to enhance his leadership role within the dressing room. The report mentioned that Carvajal’s new task is to remain with the team and travel with them for European matches to support and boost the confidence and experience of the other players.

The newspaper also added that this decision reflects Ancelotti’s trust in Carvajal’s experience and his ability to make a positive impact on the team, especially in crucial matches. Carvajal has already started this new role at Valdebebas, and his first official task in this capacity will be tonight, Tuesday, when he supports his teammates as they host Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Champions League.
